FFDI is seeking emerging fashion designers and creative entrepreneurs who are ready to strengthen their brands, expand their professional visibility and take the next step in building sustainable fashion businesses. This is more than an opportunity to walk a runway. Selected designers will become part of a development experience focused on the entrepreneur behind the brand, combining mentorship, professional development, industry exposure, brand building and opportunities to present their work to new audiences. The 2027 program will culminate in the FFDI Fashion Entrepreneurs Showcase, where selected designers will present their collections in a professionally produced environment designed to connect creativity with business, visibility and opportunity. Whether you are developing your first collection or growing an existing fashion brand, FFDI is looking for designers with a distinct creative perspective, a commitment to growth and a vision for where they want their brand to go next. 2027 SHOWCASE THEME: ELECTRIC EDEN

Where paradise meets the pulse of the night.

For 2027, Fashion Forward Designer Incubator invites designers into Electric Eden, a world where lush beauty, vibrant colour and after-dark energy collide. Inspired by warm nights, glowing cityscapes, bold botanicals, movement and the electric atmosphere of nightlife, Electric Eden encourages designers to explore a visual world that feels both luxurious and alive. Designers are invited to interpret the theme through saturated colour, striking silhouettes, fluid movement, unexpected textures, metallic accents, dramatic prints and the contrast between natural beauty and modern nightlife. The theme is intentionally open to interpretation. Rather than creating a literal tropical collection, designers are encouraged to bring Electric Eden to life through their own creative identity and point of view. Collections may feel romantic, bold, sensual, futuristic, street-inspired or avant-garde, as long as they capture the spirit of a world where nature, fashion and nightlife meet. WHO SHOULD APPLY?

The FFDI Designer Program is designed for emerging and developing fashion entrepreneurs who are serious about advancing their creative practice and strengthening the business behind their brand. Applicants should be prepared to actively participate in the FFDI experience, engage with mentors and industry professionals and develop a cohesive collection for presentation during the 2027 Fashion Entrepreneurs Showcase. FFDI welcomes designers representing a range of aesthetics, cultural influences, identities and creative perspectives.

DESIGNER APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Designer Biography

Please submit a brief professional biography or designer statement introducing yourself, your brand and your creative vision.

Your biography should include:

• Your background as a designer

• The story behind your brand

• Your creative aesthetic

• Your design philosophy

• The inspiration or direction behind your proposed collection

 

Professional Headshots

Please provide two professional headshots that may be used for your FFDI website profile and promotional materials if selected.

 

COLLECTION SUBMISSION

Applicants should submit 5 to 10 images representing their proposed 2027 collection. If your proposed collection is still in development, you may submit images from a previous collection along with 5 to 10 sketches or concept images illustrating the direction of your proposed FFDI 2027 collection. Your submission should demonstrate a clear creative identity and provide the FFDI selection team with an understanding of the collection you intend to develop and present. Selected designers should be prepared to present approximately 10 to 15 completed runway looks, subject to final production requirements and approval.

FILE REQUIREMENTS

Please ensure all submitted images are high quality and suitable for review. Files should be named using your brand name, designer name, content type and FFDI2027.

THE FASHION ENTREPRENEURS SHOWCASE

The FFDI Fashion Entrepreneurs Showcase is the public-facing milestone of the Designer Program. Selected designers will have the opportunity to present their collections in a professionally produced runway environment while strengthening their brand visibility, storytelling and professional presentation. For FFDI, the runway is not the final destination. It is an opportunity for designers to demonstrate their creative development, introduce their brands to new audiences and build momentum toward future professional and business opportunities. The collection gets you noticed. The business behind it helps you grow.

DESIGNER ENROLLMENT FEE

No payment is required when submitting your application.

Designer enrollment fees are only payable following formal acceptance into the FFDI 2027 Designer Program. The 2027 participation fee is $100 per approved runway look. Designers should plan to present a minimum of 10 looks and a maximum of 15 looks. Total participation fees will therefore range from $1,000 to $1,500, depending on the final number of approved runway looks. Upon acceptance, a non-refundable 50% deposit will be required to secure your position in the program.The remaining balance will be due 30 days following the initial deposit, unless otherwise communicated by FFDI. Payment instructions will be provided directly to successful applicants.
